NISCF Compliance Value Proposition Workshop
As part of its efforts to promote a culture of compliance in the cyber security field and to raise awareness of the National Information Security Compliance Framework (NISCF), the National Cyber Security Agency (NCSA) held an event on September 20, 2022, to deliver Certificates of Accreditation and Compliance at its headquarters.
NCSA awarded Mazars Qatar and Deloitte & Touché Qatar their Re-Accreditation (renewal) as auditors for the National Information Assurance Standards (NIA).
In addition, Qatar Navigation obtained the Certificate of Compliance against the National Information Assurance (NIA) Policy with a scope covering over 200 core business processes.
In her opening speech, Eng. Dana Al-Abdullah, Director of National Cyber Governance and Assurance Affairs at the National Cyber Security Agency, presented a number of important topics which included the benefits of complying with cybersecurity standards for organizations, that creates a mutual trust between the institutions and stakeholders. Compliance is considered a tool for improving and developing the performance of institutions cybersecurity programs in their administrative and technological systems. She also presented the vision of cyber regulatory frameworks and the need to enhance the Agency role in raising the level of the cybersecurity compliance.
Following the ceremony, the Agency held a workshop on the National Information Security Compliance Framework (NISCF) Value Proposition, which included input from representatives From Ernst & Young Qatar and Microsoft Qatar on the benefit they fostered from their compliance to cyber security standards and NCSA’s Assurance programs, where they emphasized on the efforts the Agency is deploying to raise the level of maturity in cyber security for companies and institutions.
